This species was previously recorded from Saudi Arabia by Pont (1991) ; Dawah & Abdullah (2009) ; El-Hawagry et al . (2013) . It was described from South Africa . Biological remarks. This species has been reared from poultry manure in South Africa by Hulley (1986) . Skidmore (1985) stated that it is not known whether this is a member of the cow dung community or a casual intruder from somewhere else. van Emden (1951) reported that H. lucida adults visit honeydew.
