( Figs. 116–119 ) Syn. Haliotrema magnigastrohamus Zhukov, 1976 Source of current specimens: Mutton snapper, Lutjanus analis (Cuvier) (Lutjanidae) : 5 mi. E of Maria, Colón , Panama (coordinates not available), 17 July 1979 . Type host and locality: Lane snapper, Lutjanus synagris (Linnaeus) (Lutjanidae) : Bay of Campeche (Area Havana ) ( Zhukov, 1976 ). Site of infection: Gills. Specimens studied: 2 voucher specimens, USNPC 101366. Previous records (as Haliotrema magnigastrohamus ): Lutjanus analis : Bay of Campeche (Area Havana) ( Zhukov 1976 ); Puerto Rico ( Bosques Rodríguez 2004 ). Lutjanus mahogoni : Bay of Campeche (Area Havana) ( Zhukov 1976 ). Lutjanus synagris : Bay of Campeche (Area Havana) ( Zhukov 1976 ); Puerto Rico ( Bosques Rodríguez 2004 ). Yellowtail snapper, Ocyurus chrysurus (Bloch) (Lutjanidae) : Bay of Campeche (Area Havana) ( Zhukov 1976 ). Measurements: Body 213 (188–238; n = 2) long; greatest width 65 (64–66; n = 2). Haptor 56 (52–59; n = 2) long, 65 (62–69; n = 2) wide. Pharynx 20–21 (n = 1) wide. Ventral anchor 35 (34–36; n = 2) long; dorsal anchor 29 (28–30; n = 2) long. Ventral bar 42 (39–45; n = 2) long. Hook 12–13 (n = 2) long. Remarks: This species was originally described by Zhukov (1976) as Haliotrema magnigastrohamus from the gills of four species of snapper from the Gulf of Mexico. Available specimens were collected by personnel of the Gulf Coast Marine Laboratory, Ocean Springs, Mississippi, prior to this study, but were insufficient to provide a redescription of the helminth. They were easily assigned to H. magnigastrohamus based on the morphology of the anchors, hooks and ventral bar; the basal perforation of the dorsal anchor base is apparently absent ( Fig. 119 ). Although requiring redescription, the species is transferred to Haliotrematoides as H. magnigastrohamus ( Zhukov, 1976 ) n. comb. based on the comparative morphology of the haptoral sclerites. The presence of H. magnigastrohamus on L. analis from Panama represents a new locality record for the helminth.
