Lellingeria jimenezii
differs from that by its smaller, reddish brown, lanceolate rhizome scales
1–2 mm
long (
vs
.
4–6 mm
), subcoriaceous blades, dark sclerenchyma visible on the rachises abaxially, 8–12 pairs of sori per segment (
vs
. 6–8 pairs), and sori not restricted to the distal portion of the segments (
Labiak 2013
). It also has dorsiventral, short-creeping rhizomes; many species of
Lellingeria
have suberect to erect, radially symmetric rhizomes.
