Sichuan , Bao-xing, KL Chu 3280 ( holotype : IBSC !, isotypes : IBSC !, E !). Herbs, perennial. Rhizome stout, with numerous fibrous roots. Stems 40–80 cm tall, branched and pubescent in upper part, glabrous in lower part. Leaves alternate membranous to herbaceous; radical leaves withering early, lower and middle leaves petiolate; petiole 2–6 cm , with wing, leaves ovate or lanceolate, 7–12 × 4–6 cm , abaxial tomentose, white pilose along veins, adaxially subglabrous, base truncate, margin irregularly shallow toothed, apex acute or shortly acuminate; upper leaves shortly petiolate or subsessile, lanceolate, base cuneate, margin subentire or shallow toothed, apex acuminate. Campanulate capitula several to many; axillary capitula usually without bracteal leaves or very small bracteal leaves; terminal ones with 2–3 lanceolate or linear bracteal leaves 1–2.5 cm long. Involucre hemispheric, 5–6 × 4–6 mm ; phyllaries 4-seriate, outer ones ovate, ca. 3 mm , dry membranous, abaxially subglabrous, apex acute, median oblong, 5–6 × ca. 2 mm , margin ciliate or serrulate, apex obtuse, innermost linear-lanceolate, 6–7 × ca. 1 mm , apex obtuse. Marginal florets 3- or 4-seriate, corolla cylindric, instaminate flower 1.5–2.5 mm , 5-dentate; disk florets tubular, 2–2.5 mm , limb 5-dentate. Achenes ca. 3.5 mm . Distribution :— China ( Sichuan ): Bao-xing, Tian-quan and Lu-ding county. Additional specimens examined :— China . Sichuan : E-mei Mt.
