Limnophora rufimana
Strobl, 1893
: 272
.
Holotype male in BSA (not seen; see
Chvála 2008
: 227).
Diagnosis.
Male dichoptic; 1 pair of reclinate orbital setae; postsutural dorsocentrals 3; haltere pale; last tarsomeres of male fore leg translucent reddish-yellow; mid tibia with 2 posterior setae.
Notes.
This
Central
and South European species has been recorded from
Sudan
, based on both sexes (Stein in
Becker 1922
: 78). It is unlikely that Stein would have misidentified the very characteristic males of this species, but nevertheless this
Sudan
material needs to be checked.
