Xanthochlorus silaceus
Chandler & Negrobov, 2008
(Xanthochlorinae)
—
new to
Portugal
(
Fig.
7I
)
Number of specimens recorded.
4.
Distribution.
Thus far only recorded from Britain.
Portugal
: one province (Beira Litoral), first record from continental Europe!
Ecology.
The only Portuguese specimens of
X. silaceus
were recorded from a pine forest with
Acacia
sp.
,
Arbutus
unedo
,
Quercus
spp.
and
Castanea sativa
, and a botanical garden with artificial ponds and fountains. Its ecology is largely unknown.
Rarity (%).
2.3 (rare).
Activity period.
June–July.
150.?
Xanthochlorus tenellus
(Wiedemann, 1817)
(Xanthochlorinae)
Distribution.
Europe, but rather uncertain since the discovery of two new
Xanthochlorus
species
in Britain (
Chandler & Negrobov 2008
).
Portugal
: Beira Alta (
Naglis & Barták 2015
).
Ecology.
Mainly recorded from open, rather dry deciduous forests and forest edges.
Remarks.
Naglis & Barták (2015)
listed only one female specimen, which we treat here as uncertain considering the slight and often indecisive colour differences between females of related species.
Pelastoneurus
sp.
(Dolichopodinae)
—
new to the Palaearctic Region!
Remarks.
One female specimen was collected on
13 July
2014
in Castro Marim (district
Faro
) in the province of Algarve. It features all characteristics of this primarily tropical genus that is known from all zoogeographical realms except for the Palaearctic and Afrotropics (Yang
et al.
2016).
