Comments.
There are two specimens of
Catadelphops nasutus
in NHMUK, a female and a male from the huge Cadiou collection of
Sphingidae
, reared in
Arizona
from pupae of the hawk-moth
Proserpinus terlooii
(Edwards)
(
Lepidoptera
:
Sphingidae
). This is the first host record for the genus
Catadelphops
Heinrich.
Sime & Wahl (2002)
noted several host records for
Catadelphus
Wesmael
from
Macroglossini
, including other species of
Proserpinus
Hübner
, and recovered a sister group relationship between
Catadelphops
and
Catadelphus
.
