Description: Colony is encrusting, unilaminar or bilaminar. Distinct autozooids mostly quadrangular arranged in regular longitudinal rows and separated by fine grooves. Frontal membrane covers whole of frontal area. Gymnocyst is abscent. Cryptocyst is thick, surface granular with lateral edges bearing small denticles. Opesia deep, more or less flat with a median proximal process varying in size and serrated at its free edge. Records from Indian waters : Manglore. Distribution: Red Sea, Zanzibar , Sri Lanka , Philippines , New Guinea , Australia , California, Atlantic Morocco , Brazil , Puerto Rico , Japan and China .
