Diagnosis Family Haplozetidae . Lamellae long, prelamellae absent. Tutorium weakly developed. Pteromorphae large, movable. Fourteen pairs of notogastral setae, among them four pairs that seem to be neotrichous. Four pairs of sacculi also visible. Gnathosoma typical for the family. Epimeral region without posterior border, sternal ones also reduced. Epimeral setal formula: 3-1-3-3. Five pairs of genital, three pairs of aggenital, four pairs of anal and eight pairs of adanal setae. Anal and adanal setae neotrichous. All legs tridactylous. Type species Mahnertozetes perreti sp. nov. Remarks Heterotrichy was unknown in the family Haplozetidae . First of all, the anal neotrichy is unique in the poronota Oribatida . On this basis the new genus is also unique in the family.
