Remarks
. Morphological Variation in the present series of
E. woodmasoni
is within the reported range (Manning 1978b; Ahyong 2001; Ahyong
et al.
2008). The abdominal carinae are spined as follows: submedian 5– 6, intermediate 3–6, lateral (1)2–6, marginal 1–5. The lobe between the terminal spines of the uropodal protopod is usually rounded (pointed on one side in one specimen), the anterior lobe of thoracic somite 6 is usually slender, and the anterior lobe of thoracic somite 7 is blunt (angular in one specimen). As reported for Taiwanese specimens (Ahyong
et al.
2008), the oVerall colour pattern ranges from uniform to diffusely banded.
Erugosquilla woodmasoni
has been widely reported from
India
, along both eastern and western coasts (Kemp 1913; Manning 1978b; Shanbogue 1969, 1986; Ghosh 1987; Lyla 1997; Ahyong 2001).
Distribution
.
India
to
Australia
, the South
China
Sea and
Japan
; intertidal to at least
70 m
(Ahyong & Naiyanetr 2002).
