( Figs. 46–49 ) Type specimens. Holotype , F, THAILAND : Chaing Mai Pr., Chaing Dao W.R., Patang Stn., 19.54ºN 98.97ºE , 500 m alt., 13.vii.2002 , Cognato & Gillogly, ex 5 Aceraius helferi . Deposited in EMBT . Paratypes , 2 F, 3 M, same data as holotype ( S74177 -81). Diagnosis. Both sexes: idiosoma 850–860 long; anterior hyaline projection does not extend past CxI; exopodal patterning between CxII–III striped; pedofossae III present, IV absent; seta h1 with 10–11 barbs; distal spine-like process on palp femur 16–18 long; one non-filamentous excrescence ribbon-like, the other a serrated blade; femur III and IV with small lamellae. Female: sternal shield smooth; seta st1 2–3 long, much shorter than base of tritosternum; setae st2-st4 minute; sternogynial shield smooth, anterior margin straight. Male: tetartosternum absent; sternal processes not articulated with sternoventral shield, symmetrical, with rounded ends, the internal margins bearing setae st1 ; sternoventral shield (anterior of genital opening) smooth; seta st1 10 long; genital opening placed between CxII–III, flanked by 4–7 pores. Description. Female: Idiosoma 850–860 long, 580–590 wide; anterior hyaline projection with 1 pair of barbed setae 38 long. Tritosternum base 45 long, 28–30 wide. Tetartosternum and sternal shield smooth; tetartosternum crown-shaped; st1 2–3 long, st2-4 minute. Sternogynial shield 125–128 long, 118–123 wide, smooth, 1–4 pores and 2–3 setae flanking each side of shield. Ventral shield weakly lineate laterally, smooth medially and in intercoxal region; 1 pair large semi-circular pores posteromedially of Cx IV, 1 pair of eye-like pores, 4–6 pairs of small round pores, and 7 pairs of small (<5 long) setae. Ventrianal shield 175–178 long, 390–410 wide, with lineate reticulation, paranal setae 45–50 long, other setae minute; anterolateral corner of ventrianal shield not fused with ventral shield. Marginal shields with weak lineate reticulation. Pedofossae III and CxIV-marginal suture present. Legs. TrI with seta pv1 slightly thicker than seta av1 . FeI with seta pv3 longer and thicker than setae pv1 and pv2 . FeII with ventral lamella, seta pv1 25 long, setiform, seta pv2 18 long, setiform, seta ad1 barbed and thickened. GeII with setae ad3 , pd3 spine-like. FeIII with small lamella distal to av1 ; seta pv1 barbed, thickened; seta pd1 spine-like. GeIII and TiIII with pd setae thickened. FeIV with lamella, expanded distal to av1 , seta pv1 thick, spine-like, seta pd2 just distal to ad2 ; seta ad2 thickened. TaII–IV with seta av2 and av3 spinelike, subequal in length to seta av3 . Gnathosoma . Seta h1 curved, with 4–5 barbs, 55 long, distance between h1–h1 10; h2 with 3 small barbs, 38 long; h3 8 long, posterolaterad h2 ; palpcoxal seta 15 long. Corniculi on small tubercles. Palp, seta av1 on trochanter with 13 barbs, 43 long; av2 with 0–3 tiny barbs, 38–43 long; palp femur with distal spine 16–18 long. Chelicera, fixed digit 138–148 long, movable digit 38–42 long; fixed digit with 2 large and 1 minute subapical tooth; excrescences consist of a large brush-like process, a serrated blade, and a ribbon-like process with a toothed margin that extends well beyond the end of chelicerae. Male: Idiosoma 860 long, 590 wide. Tritosternum base broad, 53–58 long, 58–60 wide. Sternal processes not articulated with sternoventral shield, symmetrical, with rounded ends, the internal margins bearing setae st1 . Sternal shield anterior of genital opening smooth. Seta st1 smooth, 10 long. Genital opening 50–53 long, 52–53 wide, with 4–7 large pores laterad the opening. Large lamellae on Cx I. Gnathosoma . Seta h3 posterolaterad h1 , level with h2 . Remarks. Male Neofedrizzia janae do not have separate presternal processes or a separate tetartosternum; instead, the anterior margin of the sternoventral shield has two lateral processes. This modification of the sternoventral shield is also present in three other species: N. leonilae Rosario & Hunter , N. tani Pope & Chernoff and N. sulawesi sp. nov. Etymology. It is a pleasure to name this species for my dear mother Jan Seeman.
