Type
species
.
–
Leptochirus javanicus
Laporte
, fixed by subsequent designation (
Lucas, 1920
).
Diagnosis. –
This genus can be easily distinguished from other
Leptochirini
by the distinctly protruding inner lateral teeth and mandibles. The prosternal process is sunk between the anterior coxae, and its apex is slightly dilated behind rather than expanded, to form a round plate as in
Leptochirus
. The inner lobe of the maxillae is densely ciliate, but not denticulate as in
Priochirus
and
Thoracochirus
.
