The specimens have been collected in both flowing and stagnant areas in muddy substrates up to 210 m asl. The first record for Tunisia is from Gadeau de Kerville (1908) in northern Tunisia (Tabarka, Jendouba). Distribution. Widely distributed in Europe, Northern Africa, and Asia ( Jansson 1986 ; Jansson 1995 ; Carapezza 1997 ; Aukema et al. 2013 ).
