(1996) from H . irroratus and Peromyscus difficilis (Allen) and Durette-Desset (1978) from Chaetodipus hispidus (Baird) , and a recent report by Panti-May et al . (2018) from H . gaumeri . All males had a synlophe with well-developed careen; 12 cuticular ridges in the synlophe at midbody ( Figure 4C ); subsymmetrical bursa with a pattern of type 2-2-1; dorsal ray with two small and asymmetric accessory branches starting about its mid-length; rays 8 arising from base of dorsal ray and similar in length to it; dorsal ray with bifid extremities ( Figure 4D ); simple genital cone; and simple spicules 300–425 long. This is the first record of V . vexillata in Campeche and Quintana Roo , extending its geographical range.
