Comments: Chondrodactylus pulitzerae occurs along the Angolan coast, mainly in the south of the country ( Marques et al. 2018 ), with Caop Velha, Bengo Province , being the known northern limit of distribution ( Ceríaco et al. 2017 ). Heinz (2011) demonstrated that C. pulitzerae was the correct name for the Angolan lineage. Specimens from the Newton expedition were never cited before. MHNCUP/REP 201–205 specimens’ jar was labelled as “ Pachydactulus bibroni (Smith) Newton Bahia dos Tigres 1905 ” and “11 Baía dos Tigres 1905”. This matches the known distribution of the species, as C. pulitzerae has already been cited from Namibe Province ( Bocage 1895 ; Ceríaco et al. 2016b ; Laurent 1964 ).
