Distribution. India : Tamil Nadu ( Kandasamy 1986, as Trioza laqueus minor ). Host plant. Cinnamomum sp. ( Lauraceae ). Comments. Trioza fletcheri minor Crawford, 1912 is a senior primary homonym of Trioza minor Tuthill, 1945 from Mexico and Panama and Trioza laqueus minor Kandasamy, 1986 from India . According to article 57.2 of the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature ( ICZN 1999 ) a junior primary homonym is invalid. We propose following replacement names: Trioza nimro Burckhardt , nom. nov. for Trioza minor Tuthill, 1945 and Trioza monri Burckhardt , nom. and stat. nov. for Trioza laqueus minor Kandasamy, 1986 nec Trioza fletcheri minor Crawford, 1912 . Trioza laqueus minor Kandasamy, 1986 (= T. monri Burckhardt ) differs from T. laqueus morphologically and in the host range, suggesting that they are two distinct species. For this reason, we raise the former to species status.
