Leucophenga ornata
Wheeler, 1959: 184
; Bock, 1979: 33; Okada, 1990: 680.
Diagnosis.
Wing slightly yellowish except brown patches (
Fig. 2
A); paramere broadened medially, pubescent along distal margin, lacking sensilla (
Fig. 14
D); aedeagus hook-shaped apically (
Fig. 14
E).
Description.
Ocellar triangle with ca. 3–10 setae above ocellar setae. Frons yellowish brown to dark brown. Pedicel brownish to brown; first flagellomere brown. Clypeus dark brown. Mesonotum yellowish brown on anterior 2/3, brown on posterior 1/3, with 3 brown longitudinal stripe: unapparent and diffuse medially and thin laterally in some
paratypes
(
Fig. 4
A), sometimes without any stripes in some
paratypes
. Postpronotal lobe brownish. Acrostichal setulae in ca. 14–16 irregular rows (
Fig. 4
A). Scutellum brown, pale at tip (
Fig. 4
A). Katepisternum brownish yellow (
Fig. 4
B). Meron slightly brown (
Fig. 4
B). Wing (
Fig. 2
A): Costal vein between R2+3 and R4+5 distally with ca. 7 peg-like spinules on ventral surface. Halter slightly brown apically (
Fig. 4
B). Legs slightly brownish on hind femur. Abdominal tergites brown to black (
Fig. 8
A); second slightly yellow anteromedially, with 1 yellow patch laterally; third with a pair of narrow, yellow patches submedially along margin; fourth and fifth each with a pair of small, unconspicuous, yellow patches submedially along margin; sixth with yellow, M-shaped patch posteriorly. Male terminalia: Epandrium with ca. 7 setae near posterior margin and ca. 4 setae on ventral corner per side (
Fig. 14
B). Hypandrium lacking sensilla (
Fig. 14
C). Paramere broadened medially, narrowed distally, with some pubescence distally (
Fig. 14
D). Aedeagus reticulated medially, with a triangular projection basodorsally (
Fig. 14
E).
