Lectotype (design. n.), NHMUK 20130118 ( Fig. 10C; D =48.0 mm, H=41.1 mm, W=5). Remarks. This species was described from specimens in the Cuming collection and only one set of shell measurements was given in the original description. Pfeiffer (1853a : 247, pl. 33, figs 10, 11) republished the description and figured a shell from Cuming's collection. There is a single shell in the NHM collections from the Cuming collection with an original label stating "the type" which exactly matches Pfeiffer illustration ( 1853a ) and is here designated as the lectotype.
