estimated that the world caddisfly fauna may contain approximately 50,000 species. In this way, only about 20–25% of world species of caddisflies has been described (de
Moor & Ivanov 2008
). In
Brazil
, the number of caddisfly species has been increased in the last decades, but studies in some areas are still scarce. The Brazilian Northeast Region comprises 18% of the Brazilian territory, with around 1.6 Tm2, but only 120 species have been recorded, 40 of these in
Bahia
State. Here, 31 caddisfly species, including
Helicopsyche

, belonging to 14 genera and eight families were recorded from Chapada
Diamantina

. Two of these previously described species constitute new records for
