Remarks:
The general appearance of the
Conus canonicus
shell closely resembles that of
C. textile
,
but the latter generally has smaller reticulations and triangular markings that more completely cover the surface (
Figs. 2M–O, 2P–R
). Two different forms were collected in the study; one from rocky intertidal and sea grass beds (
Fig. 2M–O
) and the other only from lagoons (
Fig. 2P–R
).
