Type host: Acrocephalus scirpaceus (Hermann) ( Passeriformes : Sylviidae ). Type locality: Poland . FEMALE ( holotype and 5 paratypes ). Total body length 815–870. Gnathosoma . Infracapitulum apunctate. Hypostomal apex with 1 pair of short and sharp-ended protuberances. Each medial branch of peritremes with 4–5 chambers, each lateral branch with 9–11 chambers. Length of stylophore and movable cheliceral digit 195–215 and 155– 165 respectively. Idiosoma . Propodonotal shield sculptured and sparsely punctate near bases of setae ve and si , bearing bases of setae vi , ve , si and c1 . Length ratio of setae vi:ve:si 1:4–4.5:5.5–6. Setae se and c1 located at same transverse level. Hysteronotal shields absent. Pygidial shield present, apunctate. Genital setae shorter than aggenital setae. Length ratio of setae g1:ag2 1:1.5. Setae ag1 slightly shorter (1.2 times) than ag2 . Coxal fields I–IV sparsely punctate or without punctation. Setae 3c 1.7 times longer than 3b. Legs . Fan-like setae p’ and p” of legs III and IV with 13–15 tines. Setae tc” of legs III and IV slightly (1.2 times) longer than tc’III–IV . Apodemes I fused to apodemes II in anterior part of apodemes II. Lengths of setae : vi 50–60, ve 230–240, si 305–330, c1 285–330, c2 300–350, se 305–350, d1 305–315, d2 330–375, e2 305–330, f1 115–140, f2 390–400, h1 140–175, h2 400–425, ps1 and ps2 35–40, g1 and g2 95–105, ag1 130–140, ag2 165, ag3 260, l’RIII and l’RIV 30–35, tc’III–IV 60–70, tc”III–IV 70–85, 3b 70–80, 3c 125–130. MALE ( 2 specimens from additional host species— A. schoenobaenus from Egypt ). Total body length 570– 640. Gnathosoma . Hypostomal apex with pair of short and blunt-ended protuberances. Each medial branch of peritremes with 4 chambers, each lateral branch with 10–11 chambers. Length of apunctate stylophore and movable cheliceral digit 165–170 and 125–130 respectively. Idiosoma . Propodonotal shield, lightly sculptured and laterally punctate, bearing bases of setae vi , ve , si and c1 . Setae se situated slightly anterior to level of setae c1 . Length ratio of setae vi:ve:si 1:1–1.3:5.1. Hysteronotal shield fused to pygidial shield. Setae d2 2.3 times longer than e2. Setae h2 5.4 times longer than f2 . Coxal fields I–IV apunctate. Setae 3c 1.8 times longer than 3b . Legs . Fan-like seta p’ and p” of legs III and IV with 10–11 tines. Setae tc” of legs III and IV 1.4 times longer than tc’III–IV. Lengths of setae : vi 30–35, ve 35–40, si 180, se 190, c1 145–195, c2 175–190, d2 80, e2 35 , h2 190, f2 35–40, ag1 95–115, ag2 65–70, ag3 70, l’RIII 45–65, l’RIV 40–55, tc’III–IV 35, tc”III–IV 50, 3b 55–65, 3c 95–115.
