Wood pers. comm.). Distribution. Not determined. Galápagos: Floreana (ICCDRS), Isabela, San Cristóbal (ICCDRS), Santa Cruz, Santiago. Material examined. Galápagos : Isabela :Alcedo, 700 m , 14.x.1998 , emergida de pupa de Thyrinteina umbrosa , Leg. L. Roque (1 ♁, ICCDRS ). Santa Cruz: 29.x.2000 , ex. pupa Utetheisa galapagensis (5 ♁, 2 ♀ , CNC , ICCDRS ). Santiago : Aguacate Camp, 550 m , mossy forest, MT , 7–13.iv.1992 , S.B. Peck ( 1 ♀ , CNC ). Remarks. Adults of this species were reared from the endemic species, Thyrinteina umbrosa Herbulot (Geometridae) , collected on Isabela and Utetheisa galapagensis (Wallengren) (Erebidae) on Santa Cruz. Specimens were collected in sea surface nets between islands ( Peck 1994b ). This appears to be a species near H. virilis Aldrich & Webber (D.M. Wood pers. comm.).
