This genus can usually be distinguished from all known genera of the subfamily Pholcinae by the presence of three pairs of apophyses (proximo-lateral, proximo-frontal, and disto-frontal; Figs 34 , 42 ) on the male chelicerae, by the presence of a bulbal uncus and appendix ( Figs 30 , 40 ), and by the presence of a ‘knob’ on the usually sclerotized epigyne ( Huber 2011a ; see also Huber 2011a for a discussion on diagnostic characters in Pholcus , and reversals in some taxa).
