)
comb. nov.
Forrestopius larryi
Gauld & Sithole, 2002: 157
.
Comments.
This species was originally described under
Forrestopius
. However, it shows many features that disagree with the generic diagnosis, such as the palpal formula 4:3 (vs. 5:
4 in
Forrestopius
); similar palpal formula can be also found in
Leurus xalifer
Gauld & Sithole, 2002
.
Leurus larryi
has the protibial spur antero-dorsally with comb and postero-dorsally with velum (vs. protibial spur antero-dorsally without comb and without velum and postero-dorsally with comb in
Forrestopius
). Additionally, the
Forrestopius
species
that have two mandibular teeth have 14–20 flagellomeres and the species with three teeth have between 26–30 flagellomeres, while
L. larryi
has two mandibular teeth and 30–32 flagellomeres.
