( Fig. 18F–L ) Range: —Antilles, Mexico to Panama , Suriname and Venezuela , Andes from Venezuela to Bolivia ( CH , CO, LP, SC, TA), Brazil . Ecology: —Common; saxicolous and rarely terrestrial, on rocks or steep banks, often forming dense colonies; in humid to semihumid habitats; (1300–) 2000–3200 m . Notes: —The hydathodes are often indistinct and easily overlooked. Closely related to, and perhaps conspecific with, E. spathulatum (Bory) T.Moore from Africa, Madagascar , Réunion , Mauritius , and Sri Lanka .
