, no collector recorded
.
Remarks.
This is a new species, but currently no materials are available for study.
Hanitsch (1933)
firstly recorded the male of the species from South
Gansu
, but he treated it as
Polyphaga plancyi
. Later,
Princis (1962)
considered it as
Eupolyphaga fusca
. It’s doubtful that
E. fusca
could be distributed in
Gansu
where is very far from the known localities in
Yunnan
. After examining the specimens in NRM (by photos), we found that the specimen mentioned in
Hanitsch (1933)
is certainly not
P. plancyi
, it’s an undescribed species belonging to
Eupolyphaga
. Male of this species is distinct with unicolored brown body excepting pronotum (
Fig. 12
E–F), The pronotum anteriorly with a whitish margin which is interrupted medially at cephalic margin (
Fig. 12
I–J). Two blackish female
Eupolyphaga
species from NRM with the same collecting data were also examined (one of which shown in
Fig. 12
G–H), we considered them as the female of this undescribed species; one additional blackish female from South
Gansu
(IZCAS), is also considered to be the same species. Additional materials are needed for updating the knowledge of this species.
