Distribution and Natural History.
Otocryptis nigristigma
is endemic to and widely distributed across the dry and intermediate zones of
Sri Lanka
from near sea level to up to
400 m
asl. It has been reported from the North- Central and Eastern parts of the country, including Dambulla, Wasgomuwa and Sigiriya. It is diurnal, terrestrial to semi-arboreal, insectivorous and oviparous, laying
4 eggs
(
Somaweera & Somaweera 2009
).
