Distribution. This is the first record from Saudi Arabia ; it is new to the fauna of Ghana and Nigeria . This species was described from Indonesia (Krakatau Island) and was further recorded from the Oriental Region; Indonesia (Flores Islands, Lombok Island and Sumbawa Island), Taiwan (as Formosa): Palaearctic Region; Turkey , Ukraine : Afrotropical Region; Congo, Ethiopia , Kenya , Madagascar , Mozambique “ Rhodesia ” (= Zimbabwe and Zambia ), South Africa , Tanzania , Uganda , Zaire ( Cogan 1980 ; Sasakawa 1972 ; Çikmani & Sasakawa, 2011 ; Guglya 2012 ; Černý & von Tschirnhaus 2014 ). Host remarks. The host plant for M. provecta is Abutilon indicum (L.) ( Malvaceae ) ( Spencer 1977b: 234 ).
