Eudicella
(
Eudicella
)
daphnis daphnis
(Buquet, 1835)
Distribution
: BEN, BFO, CAM, GAM, GBI, GUI, RCA?, RCI, SEN?.
Distribution in
Guinea-Bissau
(Administrative Regions):
1) BFA.
Historic records:
— Bambadinca (BAF) (
Brivio 1958
sub
Eudicella gralli
Buquet
schultzeorum
Kolbe);
— Bambadinka (=Bambadinca) (BAF) (
De Palma 2009
).
Material examined:
none.
Remarks.
The species presents a wide distribution throughout West Africa (
De Palma 2009
;
Le Gall 2015
;
Schoolmeesters 2019
). It was recorded for GBI based on the same singleton from Bambadinca locality (
Brivio 1958
;
De Palma 2009
). The description of the larvae was provided by Lumaret (1985). The biology and ecology of this species are presumably similar to other
Eudicella
species
(see
Holm & Marais 1992
).
