A brief illustrated redescription of the male and description of the previously unknown female of
P.

Dorypolynema
)
mboroense
are provided herein to facilitate recognition of this Afrotropical species based on the non-type specimens studied. “M’Boro”, the
type
locality of this species, is almost certainly
Mboro
in
Thiès Region
of
Senegal
, because “Casamance” indicated on the original label is more likely to refer to the nickname of Mboro, “Little Casamance”, than to Casamance proper, which is the area of
Senegal
south of
the Gambia
.

Description.
FEMALE (

). Body length
800–1025 µm
(critical point dried, point-mounted specimens). Head (
Fig. 19
) dark brown, mesosoma variably colored from light brown to brown, petiole light brown, gaster brown to dark brown; scape and pedicel yellow or light brown, flagellum brown (F1 sometimes a little lighter colored); legs yellow to light brown. Antenna (
Fig. 20
) with scape smooth, with a few normal setae, 2.5–2.9× as long as wide excluding radicle; pedicel 1.7–2.0× as long as F1 and 2.2
×
as long as wide; F2 the longest funicular, F3 longer than any of the following funiculars, length to width ratios of funiculars: F1—2.6, F2—8.4; F3—6.5; F4—3.4; F5—2.8; F6—2.3, F6 with 1 mps; clava 2.8–3.6× as long as wide, with 7 mps. Pronotum (
Fig. 21
) completely divided mediolongitudinally; mesoscutum longer than scutellum, smooth except for faint, transversely striate sculpture anteriorly; scutellum smooth, with campaniform sensilla about in the middle or a little closer to its anterior margin, and with frenum short and separated from scutellum by a row of foveae; propodeum posteriorly with an elevated median area (best observed in lateral view in dry-mounted specimens), and an incomplete median carina extending for at most half its length. Fore wing (
Fig. 22
) 4.9–5.1× as long as wide; marginal vein elongate, with 2 dorsal macrochaetae; disc hyaline, with 1–4 setae behind venation (usually behind base of marginal vein) and densely setose just beyond apex of venation; longest marginal seta about 0.8× greatest width of wing. Hind wing (

) 29–33× as long as wide, with disc hyaline; longest marginal seta 4.8–5.0× greatest width of wing. Petiole notably dilated basally (
Fig. 21
). Ovipositor (

) usually about 2× length of gaster, though sometimes less, markedly exserted beyond gastral apex by 0.3–0.5× total length of ovipositor, and 1.7–2.7× length of metatibia.
Redescription.
MALE. Head (
Figs 23, 24
) about the same size as in female but mandibles notably larger. Antenna (
Fig. 23
) with scape about 1.9× as long as wide, its inner surface with numerous modified setae creating pin cushion-like appearance; pedicel smooth, about 1.8× as long as wide; F1 the shortest flagellomere (0.8–0.9× length of pedicel and 0.35–0.4× length of F2), without mps and contrastingly lighter (yellow or light brown, at most with apex brown) than other, brown, flagellomeres and concolorous with scape and pedicel; F2 the longest flagellomere. Pronotum (

) completely divided mediolongitudinally, not particularly enlarged, with median length, excluding collar, about 0.25× its total [lateral] length, and with 3 pairs of pointed setae. Fore wing (

) 5.2–5.5× as long as wide; disc almost hyaline or slightly infumate; longest marginal seta 0.9–1.0× greatest width of wing. Genitalia (

210 µm
long; digitus with very small, inconspicuous denticles apically.
