Comments:
This species was not known from the New World until
Thomas
et al.
(2003)
recorded it from
Mexico
, the southern
United States
, and several West Indies islands; hence, it was not included in the
Froeschner (1988)
catalog.
Agonoscelis puberula
is very similar in general appearance to several species in the genus
Trichopepla
. It can usually be recognized by the dark markings on the veins of the hemelytral membrane, which are usually lacking in
Trichopepla
. We have examined the specimen from
Minnesota
and it is this species, but it might be an incidental or adventitious record.
