Roubal (1919) described Ennearthron ondreji explicitly based on one male . The differential diagnosis in the original description is missing. There is only information that E. ondreji is of the same size as Octotemnus glabriculus ( Gyllenhal, 1827 ) and that it does not resemble any known species. The examination of the holotype showed that it is a dark-coloured male of E. cornutum , which is a widespread species whose colouring varies from light brown to almost black. Consequently, I propose the following new synonymy: Ennearthron cornutum ( Gyllenhal, 1827 ) = Ennearthron ondreji Roubal, 1919 , syn. nov.
