This species is nocturnal and terrestrial. It has a dark brown coloration with irregular, white or yellow dots. A female is known to measure approximately

Distribution.
Oxyrhopus fitzingeri
occurs in southwestern
Ecuador
and northwestern
Peru
. It lives in the
tropical and subtropical western zones, between
10–1830 m
.a.s.l. In
Ecuador
, it has been reported from the provinces of
Guayas
,
Loja
,
El Oro
, and Santa Elena (Wallach et al. 2014;

).
