(entire bibliography, diagnosis, key to species and species descriptions)
With the present results included,
Apecholinus
comprises 6 species distributed in mainland
China
and
Taiwan
. Further information about the genus may be found in
Smetana (2018)
. Three species of the genus are at present known from
Taiwan
:
A. fraternus
,
A. imitator
sp. nov.
and
A. canifer
sp. nov.
Until now, all members of
Apecholinus
had uniform, dark body pubescence, without any patches of tomentose pubescence of different color. The two new species described here are the first ones with patches of tomentose pubescence, markedly imitating numerous species of
Agelosus
with variably developed patches of tomentose pubescence.
