Morphometrics:
Valves 25–32 (33) μm long, 4 (5) μm wide, and transapical striae unresolved in LM,

10 μm in SEM.
Remarks:
The characteristic morphological features include a narrow hyaline stauros in the central area dorsally and double rows of striae.
Amphora staurohyalina
is a tropical taxon found in warmer coasts, and has not been reported in any other location except the
type
locality,
Palawan
of
Philippines
.
It was more or less frequently encountered as an epiphyte along the Seogwipo coast in
Jeju
Island, and represents a new record for
South Korea
.
