Reference: Podzorski & Håkansson 1987 , p. 52, pl. 15, fig. 11, pl. 51, figs 4–6. Morphometrics: Valves 25–32 (33) μm long, 4 (5) μm wide, and transapical striae unresolved in LM, 34 in 10 μm in SEM. Remarks: The characteristic morphological features include a narrow hyaline stauros in the central area dorsally and double rows of striae. Amphora staurohyalina is a tropical taxon found in warmer coasts, and has not been reported in any other location except the type locality, Palawan of Philippines . It was more or less frequently encountered as an epiphyte along the Seogwipo coast in Jeju Island, and represents a new record for South Korea .
