Externally, B. salakia resembles B. hypoprepioides , but differs clearly by its slightly larger size, broader forewing, pure white coloration (that is pale yellowish in B. hypoprepioides ), shorter antemedial spots, interrupted antemedial line, smoothly curved medial line (that is angled in B. hypoprepioides ), interrupted and stronger curved postmedial line, narrower subterminal area, subterminal strokes on veins being shorter and not connected to spots of the postmedial line, white forewing cilia (those are blackish in B. hypoprepioides ), and the absence of a pattern on hindwing (in B. hypoprepioides , the hindwing pattern consists of a diffuse fuscous medial transverse line and blackish longitudinal strokes on veins in the subterminal area). The male genitalia of B. salakia differ clearly from those of other members of the species-group by their densely spinulose manica, and plate-like medial costal process. The male genitalia of B. salakia are also very different from those of other relatives and characterized by the very broad, heavily sclerotized and rugose ductus bursae, which smoothly passes to the latero-posterior sclerotized area of corpus bursae (the latter continuous in the appendix bursae), the short corpus bursae situated more or less perpendicularly to the ductus bursae axis, and the very small, conical appendix bursae having a lateral sclerotized area connected to the sclerotized area of corpus bursae. Distribution . Indonesia ( Sumatra , Java and Bali islands).
