Diagnosis. Hypostome with 2 pairs of setae. Setae ve present. Sensillae SEa-type. Agenital and pseudanal series with 2 pairs of setae, each. Number of leg setae: coxae 2–1–1–0, trochanters 0–0–0–0, femora 6–4–3–1, genua 4– 4–3–2, tibiae 5–3–2–2. In larvae, antaxial and paraxial claws of leg I short, subequal, and sharp-ended. Host and distribution. Passeriformes (Estrildidae) : SpOraeginthus subflavus (Vieillot) from Central Africa ( Fain 1962c ). Non-African hosts and distribution. Estrildidae : Amandava amandava (Linnaeus) from Indonesia ( Fain 1963d ), Erythrura prasina (Sparman) from captivity in Belgium (Fain 1970) but originally distributed in the Oriental region ( Clements et al . 2016 ).
