["Habitat in Java."] Sp. Pl., ed. 2, 2: 1509 (1763). RCN: 7697. Type not designated. Original material: [icon] in Plukenet, Phytographia: t. 123, f. 3. 1692; Almag. Bot.: 6. 1696 - Typotype : Herb. Sloane 95: 7 ( BM-SL ) . Current name: Acacia sp . ( Fabaceae : Mimosoideae ). Note: Bunting (in Taxon 16: 469. 1967) and Hernandez & Nicolson (in Taxon 35: 747. 1986) discussed the basis for this name, the only original element for which is a Plukenet illustration of a single leaf, the identification of which is uncertain. It is a species of Acacia (Lourdes Rico, pers. comm.) and, if from Java, may represent A. leucophloea (Roxb.) Willd.
