Diagnosis. Recognized among congeners of Sadoletus by a combination of the following characters: head, anterior lobe of pronotum, and basal half of scutellum black to dark brown ( Figs. 10, 11 ); antennae generally brownish yellow; labium attaining mesocoxae; posterior lobe of pronotum brownish yellow to dark brown, with pale stripe along meson ( Figs. 10, 11 ); hemelytra well surpassing apex of abdomen ( Figs. 10, 11 ); corium black to dark brown in apical third to apical half in male ( Fig. 10 ), entirely pale to brownish yellow in female ( Fig. 11 ); profemur armed with 2 spines; metafemur and metatibia with dark brown annulations; abdominal sterna dark brown; ovipositor straight; the two hemiventrites of the medially completely bisected sternite VII are short therefore posterior margins of sternites III–V straight, posterior margin of sternite VI weakly concave (as in Ban & Ishikawa , 2013 : 198, fig. 6); paramere spatula-shaped at apex (as in Ban & Ishikawa , 2013 : 200, fig. 17). Distribution. Japan (Ryukyus), Thailand ( Chanthaburi Prov., Rayong Prov.), New to Thailand . Biological notes. The specimens were collected from artificial light located in adjacent mountainous forest and open forest adjacent to a resort hotel.
