This subspecies was described by Švihla (2012) from

and was previously known only from this 
<collectingCountry id="F37D9EE67346FFC1291BFD85EF13FDD9" box="[525,597,533,559]" name="Iceland" pageId="6" pageNumber="427">Island</collectingCountry>
. The specimen from 
<collectingCountry id="F37D9EE67346FFC12829FD85EEC5FDD9" box="[831,899,533,559]" name="Oman" pageId="6" pageNumber="427">Oman</collectingCountry>
does not show any significative difference with the specimens from 
<collectingCountry id="F37D9EE67346FFC12A6FFDA9EC94FDA5" box="[377,466,569,595]" name="Yemen" pageId="6" pageNumber="427">Socotra</collectingCountry>
. The nominotypical species is distributed in southern Africa.
