A widespread and, especially in Siberia, very common Holarctic species. It is distributed in Eurasia from
Ireland
and the Pyrenees in the west to
Japan
and Kamtchatka Peninsula in the east, and widely distributed across north
America
. In
Mongolia
it is distributed in mountain areas where larch (
Larix
sp.) grows.
