Female (length about 2.2mm ): scape amber-testaceous; scutellum black with coppery purple sheen; all coxae dark brown; legs largely dark brown, fore tibiae and tarsus mostly pale orange, mid tibia partly pale orange, tarsus pale orange, hind femur dusky pale orange at base, hind tibia dark brown; fore wing (Fig. 1690) infuscate across wing below marginal vein; mandible with two very short sharp teeth and a slightly rounded, truncate, upper tooth with a weakly serrate margin; scrobes shallow, distinct, meeting dorsally; antenna (Fig. 1693) with scape about 5.2X as long as broad; pedicel about 1.9X as long as broad; funicle segments subequal, all clearly longer than broad; F1 with linear sensilla; clava very nearly as long as F2-F4 combined; mesoscutum about 2-2.5X as long as pronotum medially in dorsal view; marginal vein (Fig. 1691) punctiform, not quite touching anterior wing margin; hind wing about 3X as long as broad; propodeum nearly one-third as long as scutellum, with a pair of posteriorly diverging, submedian carinae; spiracle separated from anterior margin by about 0.5X its own diameter; gaster about as long as thorax; apex of syntergum smooth; hypopygium (Fig. 1692) longitudinally divided with elongate anterior 622 Taxonomic Monographs on Neotropical Hymenoptera, Volume 2 apodemes. Male : unknown. DISTRIBUTION. Costa Rica . HOSTS. Reared from Katacephala Crawford ( Hemiptera : Liviidae ) on Eugenia carthagenensis (Jacq.) ( Myrtales : Myrtaceae ) ( Noyes & Hanson, 1996 ). MATERIAL EXAMINED. Type material. Holotype E: COSTA RICA , Cartago , Tobasi, 1500m , ex Katacephala on Myrtaceae , 6.vi.1993 (P. Hanson, D. Hollis).
