Diagnosis
. This species can be distinguished from all other Neotropical
Epirhyssa
by the combination of the following characters: 1) mesosoma totally or almost totally blackish; 2) occipital carina weakly present, not joining hypostomal carina; 3) clypeus with the apical tubercle sharp; and 4) tergite II with longitudinal wrinkling. The species is very closely related to
E. electronigra
sp. n.
(see the diagnosis and notes of the latter species).
