Diagnosis.
Gastrozona parviseta
is similar to
G. proterva
Hering
and
G. montana
Bezzi
in possessing similar scutal markings and wing banding pattern, but can be easily distinguished by the absence of posterior apical band. A brief diagnosis of male genitalia is provided here as they have not been illustrated before. External morphological characters were noted by
Hardy (1973)
and
Hancock & Drew (1999)
.
Male genitalia: Epandrium not well sclerotised, with well developed hyaline, cap-like proctiger larger than epandrium, lateral surstylus (
0.32 mm
) shorter than epandrium (
0.42 mm
) in posterior view, medial surstylus as long as lateral with well developed prensisetae, posterior lobe of surstylus broad, longer than anterior lobe; epandrium and surstyli bulb-shaped in posterior view. Phallus (
2.6 mm
long) excluding glans (
0.31 mm
); glans sclerotised with acrophallus, forming two sinuses, preglans lobe absent.
