. Preserved material yellowish, without colour markings, eyes reddish brown. Body distorted anteriorly (Fig. 38A, B). Ciliation not observed.
Four eyes, with lenses, laterally positioned on dorsal and ventral side, ventral pair larger (Fig. 38B). Eyes separated, eye spots absent. Palps absent. Nuchal epaulettes absent. Antennae and dorsal cirri absent (Fig. 38A, B).
Parapodial lobes rounded, minute. Anterior chaetigers with 2 aciculae,
1 in
median and posterior. Chaetal fascicle with 5–6 chaetae in anterior chaetigers,
2–4 in
median and posterior. All chaetae simple, expanded distally, with 3–5 fine distal teeth (Fig. 38C). Bayonet chaetae absent.
Pharynx with 1 sinuation anterior and lateral to proventricle. Trepan in chaetiger 1 with 5 equal teeth in 1 ring. Basal ring present; infradental spines absent (Fig. 38D). Proventricle equal in length to 2–3 segments in chaetiger 4–6 with 25–30 (difficult to assess) rows of muscle cells. Pygidium without anal cirri (lost?).
Reproduction and morphology of epitokous stages
