Lectotypification and synonymization of some Aspicilia species (Megasporaceae, Ascomycota) described by A. Hue from Korea and Japan Author Paukov, Alexander Institute of Natural Sciences, Department of Biology, Ural Federal University, Lenin Ave. 51, 620000 Ekaterinburg, Russia: Author Nordin, Anders Author Roux, Claude Author Moon, Kwang Hee Author Davydov, Evgeny text Phytotaxa 2017 2017-01-06 291 1 94 98 http://dx.doi.org/10.11646/phytotaxa.291.1.10 journal article 10.11646/phytotaxa.291.1.10 1179-3163 13698077 Aspicilia microsporeta Hue (1910: 80) Type ( lectotype , designated here):— KOREA . Fusan, May 1906 , R . P. Faurie 12 ( LE L-7531!, isolectotype BM 001107785 [digital photograph!]). The specimens of Aspicilia geographica and A. microsporeta are very similar ( Fig. 1G, H ) but Hue does not discuss the reason why did he separate these species. The most reasonable version, which is also marked in the name, is smaller spores of the latter. Our measurements (10.0) 11.4–[11.6]–11.9 (13.2) × (5.0) 6.1–[6.3]–6.6 (7.9) (n=10) in A. geographica and (9.0) 10.1–[10.4]–10.6 (11.8) × (5.0) 5.5–[5.8]–6.0 (6.6) (n=10) in A. microsporeta do not support this difference. Both specimens contain atranorin and confluentic acid, have N+ pinkish epihymenium, J+ medulla and therefore belong to Lecanora oreinoides . The species is widely distributed in the Pacific region ( Rambold 1989 ) and has recently been found in Korea .
