Child 218, reef ledge S of Manifa boat inlet, wash of rock rubble in 1.3–2.1 m, 27ss30¾ 35 ² N , 49ss00¾ 15 ² E , 40 ppt salinity, 14 September 1982 (one) . Distribution . The shallows of the western Indian Ocean and Red Sea contain the few collecting localities known for this species; at Ethiopia , Tanzania and Madagascar . It is new to the Gulf as are all other species except for Callipallene pectinata (Calman) listed from new material in this report. Remarks . It should be noted that this species was not found at the many repeatedly collected shallow sites of this multi-year sampling programme, although many collections were made during the NABS programme at nearby Manifa sites. Rock rubble habitats apparently were not otherwise sampled for microfauna during the programme.
