Comments:
Hemidactylus longicephalus
is a species found mainly in western
Angola
(
Marques
et al.
2018
;
Ceríaco
et al.
2020a
). The species has a complicated taxonomic history, recently addressed in detail by
Ceríaco
et al.
(2020a)
. Specimen MHNCUP/REP 214 was cited by
Ferreira (1904)
as “
Hemidactylus bocagei
”, as well as a male and a female specimen from “Cunga, margens do Quanza” that we were unable to locate. An additional adult specimen was also cited by
Ferreira (1906)
, with no indication of locality, possibly matching MHNCUP/REP 215, although we found it to be a juvenile.
