Male of Netelia ( Bessobates ) comitor . 1, Head in dorsal view; 2, head in frontal view; 3, mesosoma in dorsal view; 4, fore wing; 5, hind wing. Distribution. Japan (Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu), Russia (Primorye, Sakhalin). Remarks. This species is considered to be closely related to gansuana , nodai , pallescens , virgata , yakushimensis and yamatoensis in having the overhang, the strip of minutely papillate cuticle and the membranous pad on the mesal surface of the paramere and the teeth on the ventro-apical corner of digitus. Thus, these seven species belong to the virgata group. This is the first record of comitor from Japan .
