Distribution.
This Holarctic species ranges from northern Finland to the Pacific Coast, south to Mongolia and northeastern China (Hieke 2003a: 560) and from Alaska (Lindroth 1968: 679) to Newfoundland (Lindroth 1955a: 99), south to the upper peninsula of Michigan (Lindroth 1968: 678). The record from the White Mountains in New Hampshire (Wickham 1896b: 37) needs confirmation; those from
"Vermont"
(Hamilton 1894a: 10) and Colorado (Snow 1877: 17; Wickham 1902: 236; Armin 1963: 208, as
Amara elongatus
) are probably in error.
